CDL Concrete Mixer Driver

PRIMARY FUNCTION:



With minimal direct supervision, will operate a concrete mixer truck on public streets and highways as well as construction sites to transport and deliver concrete material. Suitable candidates are required to have a valid CDL Class A or B North Carolina Driver's license.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

 

Concrete Mixer Truck Driver

1.) Be able to perform pre/post trip vehicle inspections as well as to secure loads.

2.) Perform Quality Control checks.

3.) Able to perform inspection, repair, loading, and unloading of trucks.

4.) Maintain maintenance of vehicle and facility.

5.) Operate the vehicle in a safe, lawful, and courteous manner at all times.

6.) Read road signs and follow written or verbal directions.

7.) Maintain contact with appropriate managers by radio or GPS to inform them of delays, problems, or unusual situations.

8.) Possibility of nights, weekends, and work outside of normal workday hours.

9.) Maintain a clean, neat, and professional appearance when reporting to work and throughout the day. (Shirts, hats, vests are provided by the company.)

10.) Maintain documentation required by regulations or the company.

11.) All necessary work must be performed while complying with all company policies and procedures.

12.) Perform additional duties as required or directed by their immediate supervisor or other managers.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

 

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Must be 21 years of age or older

 

Work Experience:

  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience in driving a commercial vehicle is preferred but not required.

  • Current medical examination certificate and card.

 

Other:

  • Must have regular and predictable attendance.

 

Physical:

Heavy physical effort is required including climbing, pulling, and lifting or moving heavy-weight materials or equipment (over 80 pounds). If a position-specific Physical Demands sheet is attached, it will describe in more detail the physical demands that are required.
